Do I need a harness for a MEWP?
Working from a MEWP can be a safe environment, if proper safety precautions are taken. Although it is not a legal requirement for personnel working in MEWPs to wear a harness, it is very strongly recommended. Although you may not expect an accident to occur, it is always better to play it safe. Wearing a harness is a simple step you can take that can easily prevent a fatal accident from occurring.
What kid of fall protection system is used for MEWPs?
When working in a MEWP, it is generally best to use fall restraint system over a fall arrest system. Using a lanyard short enough to prevent the wearer from moving into an area where there is a potential fall risk is strongly advised.
