When Should I Use Multi Gas Detectors?
Multi gas detectors should be used when working in, or inspecting, any unpredictable, high-risk environments where flammable gases, oxygen deficiency/enrichment or multiple toxic gases could be present. These environments often include industrial facilities, chemical plants and confined spaces like pipes, tanks, pits and tunnels. Activities like welding can also generate flammable and asphyxiating gases like carbon monoxide, making a multi gas detector necessary.
Should I Use a Single Gas Detector or a Multi Gas Detector?
Single gas detectors should only be used if the risks of the environment are well-known, limited to one gas and when maximum portability or hands-free use is required.
Multi gas detectors should be used if the risks of an environment are unknown, dynamic or if you are entering a confined space that has a potential for toxic and flammable gases.
