The History of C.A.M.P. Climbing Harnesses
C.A.M.P (Costruzione Articoli Montagna Premana) was founded by Nicola Codega, a blacksmith, in 1889. The company originally produced wrought-iron goods like ice axes, pitons and carabiners and eventually extended its climbing range to include non-metallic equipment with the encouragement of mountaineer Riccardo Cassin and in collaboration with American climber and entrepreneur Greg Lowe.
By 1998, the dedicated C.A.M.P. Safety division was formally established to provide technical safety equipment for work at height and climbing and the full body safety harnesses you see above were first created!
