How Do You Use a Safety Lanyard?
- Before using any safety lanyard, thoroughly inspect it for any damage, cuts or tears.
- If the lanyard is in good working condition, connect one end to the dorsal D-ring of your harness.
- Secure the other end to a sturdy anchor point that is capable of holding your weight.
- Position the lanyard's energy absorber close to the harness D-ring and ensure it is short enough to prevent a fall.
- Double check that all connectors are locked and then you're free to start working!
