How to Wear a Safety Harness

If you're wondering how to wear a safety harness, don't worry! We'll get you secure in no time.

Step One: Inspect and Don Your Harness

  • Conduct a visual inspection to make sure that the harness isn't twisted and the straps aren't tangled. Use the arm and leg loops provided to put on your harness.

Step Two: Connect Your Chest Buckle

  • Connect your chest buckle using the buckle provided.

Step Three: Connect Your Leg Buckles

  • After sliding your legs through the leg loops, use the buckles provided to secure the leg straps.

Step Four: Check the D Ring

  • Always make sure that you check the placement of the D ring on the harness! The D ring should sit in the middle of your shoulder blades.

Step Five: Position Your Chest Strap

  • Ensure that you position your chest strap approximately six inches below your shoulders.

Step Six: Position Your Leg Straps

  • For an optimal fit, you should be able to fit your hand between the harness webbing and your leg, whilst feeling a light squeeze on your fingers.
